ABSTRACT:
Performance Appraisal System is a systematic and objective way of judging the relative merit or performance of an employee's task. It is the process which helps to identify those who perform their assigned tasks well and also pinpoints those whose productivity is low.
In this research paper, an attempt has been made to examine the performance appraisal system in general with an emphasis in the university system. An analysis of performance appraisal system of various categories of Group A, B and C employees of the non-teaching staff in A.P.S. University has been done through various proforma of Annual Confidential Reports.
The study should the absence of performance evaluation on scientific basis in the University is, thus resulting in lack of initiative and creativity. Result of analysis of performance and potential appears to be average. Employees satisfaction on promotion decision and performance appraisal are poor.
